So in a previous post I covered how to find and date tall Asian women. In this article I’ll cover chubby Asian women.
Size is Relative
One thing I’ll point out is that size is relative. I’ve spent a lot of time in Asia. I’ve seen fat Asian women, but they’re not very numerous. In fact, I’ve seen very few obsese women in China. I saw a few more in Japan, but that’s largely to do with the country being a lot richer, and having had a few more years of Western restaurants to visit.
So wealth and Western food make ladies fatter, but there are plenty of other factors that keep Asian ladies slim. Some factors include:
- Green tea is a popular beverage, and it’s quite popular in the USA now as a weight loss aid.
Genetics may be a significant factor.
- It’s rare to see Asian ladies drinking alcohol, and I’ve never seen them drinking pints of beer like they sometimes do in the UK!
- Asian food tends to be healthier, and few people use ready meals (apart from the odd Cup Noodle).
- Not many Asian people have cars, and they do a lot of walking.
- Asian street culture is lively in the evenings, and fewer people sit at home all night living a couch potato lifestyle.
- Warmer weather makes you eat less food (I lose several pounds every time I go to a sub-tropical city like Guangzhou).

I think it’s down to the selfish gene. A woman subconciously or conciously won’t like to date a man who is a lot less good looking than she is. Sure, she might make an exception if he’s very wealthy. But few of us using Asian dating websites are in the millionaire or billionaire league. Sure, our money goes further in China, Thailand or the Philippines. But a week of dining out in posh restaurants and taking our lady clothes boutique shopping can still dent our wallets significantly.
No, I guess that we should learn from the celebs who only date beautiful people. Leave the beautiful men and women to inhabit their own bubble, and leave us to date the more normal looking people.
For what it’s worth, many of the beautiful Chinese Love Links girls have pretty poisonous personalities. And dating Chinese girls who aren’t sure about you is a big hazard. One beautiful girl ended up cheating on me, the other has messed me round so many times, and if she wasn’t so beautiful I’d have blocked her months ago!
In my experience the best Asian women to look for are those who don’t get a lot of attention in their own country. Either they’re too old to start a family as men in their own country are concerned, or they’re not considered beautiful by local standards, or they’re a little overweight.
Actually, the overweight girls are a great place to start looking. Chubby Asian women are not popular in Asian countries like China. Chinese men love their ladies to be stick thin. When I was in Guangzhou I walked around the old colonial Shamian district. It’s a pretty part of town, and many Chinese couples go there to get their wedding photos taken. One thing I was aware of is just how painfully thin many of the new brides looked. Clearly being thin for your wedding day is seen as highly desirable.
One other thing – women have different perceptions of their own beauty. By beautiful women I’m refering to a woman who thinks she is beautiful. These girls can be as toxic as the girls who really are beautiful. So if you’re on one of the Cupid dating sites then be wary of the girls who rate their looks as either Attractive or Very Attractive.
Finding Chubby Asian Women
